The Hero Project is a community-based rite of passage program aimed at facilitating profound transformational experiences. Through various physical and mental rites of passage, our programs tie the past with the present through the use of adventure-based activities, storytelling, traditional cultural experiences and narrative therapeutic techniques. By placing their feet in ancient footsteps participants awaken to their heroes within! |

"I've known Loren for 9 years. He came to my school and put together a class for a few of us kids that taught team building, getting in touch with our emotions, compassion, empathy and getting real with others. He made our group of kids stronger by being the strong yet sensitive and genuine leader we didn't know we needed. He was there to listen and coach us through our difficult times of family loss, violence, bullying and self image issues. He reinforced things we learned and called us leaders. We painted encouraging murals at the school and put on pep rallies for our peers. It also helped us with talking in front of large groups. One year we did An Epic Day that we ran for another school. He took us on field trips all over the island to get in touch with the culture and the land. Loren believed in each of us and you could feel it. It was the best times of my school years and it's inspired me to go into human services to work with youth in the future with an organization like The Hero Project."
